Basically from Uttar Pradesh, Zenia grew up in various parts of India. After finishing school, she went to Delhi University to study Psychology and completed her Master's in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She has previously worked closely with homeless women with mental illness and also children of parents suffering from mental health issues. She has conducted trainings in mental health for the youth members of Assam's tea community and been a life skills trainer for primary school children. She is currently working at Nalandaway foundation where children from difficult backgrounds are encouraged and nurtured to build a strong sense of self through creative expression. Her belief in a holistic approach to mental health motivated her to make Yoga an integral part of her work.

My name is Himani Negi. I saw an add on Facebook about Yoga Health care (YHC) and thought about joining their advance level class of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. years back. initially I find it little boring but gradually I start liking it . I found that my body is becoming flexible & I can feel change in my behaviour also ( become more calm & stable ).

It was very difficult for me to remain always from the problems like migraine, spondylitis, backache etc.thats the time I decided to join this program. Today will share with you my journey towards yoga. Having successful completed my designing career and transforming towards yoga two years ago to balance my work and family time . Also, with stress due to work ,my health took a beating and to rejuvenate myself and started taking classes for yoga. After few months my interest towards yoga increased and I wanted to learnt techniques and benefits of asana in yoga. Then I joined Yoga International Alliance . I was instantly attracted to the techniques and forms of teaching at the institute. I felt more interested then ever before. It was like my almost daily dose of adrenaline. It helps me keep my mind at bay. My fellow friends and teachers supported and encouraged me towards yoga. This was one of the main reason of me continuing my path of yoga.

DISCOVERY OF SELF THROUGH YOGA
I started Yoga with great doubts. I had been trying various physical activities; but could never continue anything longer. At the age of 34, I weighed around 86 KG with a waist-line of 36 and body fat percentage of 26. Essentially, an unfit body that housed an unhealthy mind also. I wasn’t convinced that Yoga would do anything better.
Initially it was difficult. I couldn’t bend properly forward or backward. My heels would never touch ground while doing ‘parvatasana’. I couldn’t hold a plank for more than 10 seconds. I could hardly do six Surya Namaskars. However, this time, I just didn’t give up and continued to push the bar. I started noticing changes in my body in three months. The changes were small, but noticeable. I pushed the envelope further. By the sixth month I could hold a plank for a minute; perform ‘dandasana’; do fifty sit-ups easily, and hell, performed 108 Surya Namaskars! Since then, I haven’t looked back.
I have told myself to find 60 minutes a day, five times a week- whether I am at home or travelling. Interestingly, I noticed changes the way I used to eat and think. I started thinking more about solution than the problem. Eating became more moderate and saatvik. By end of first year, I had discovered a new self- physically, mentally and spiritually. My weight had come down to 68, waist-line 32 and body fat was less than 20%. By this time, I was motivated to learn more about Yoga, so that I could help others the way Yoga helped me. That’s how I joined the Teachers’ Training Course (TTC).
When the TTC began, I realized how little I knew about Yoga and the distance that I must cover. I realized the importance of each ‘anga’ in ‘astanga’ and how preparing the mind is every bit as important as getting the asanas right. I also started appreciating the prana-shakti and its role in creating a healthy body and mind. The course taught me one very important lesion- compete with yourself and not others while learning and performing asanas. This is going to be the foundation stone of my Yoga teaching.
For me Yoga is no more a physical activity. It is the way, I live. Yoga for me is how I think, eat and conduct myself with best possible awareness. I am not perfect in my asanas, but then I know that this what I would continue doing over the next many years until I surpass my own expectations

Why the Yoga teacher training course:
To learn the traditional practices of Yoga, learn the techniques and principles that define the true essence of it's origin. In today's times, where everyday new fitness ideas - like Power Yoga, Chair Yoga, Aerial Yoga, emerge like branches from the bark of the Yoga tree, I wanted to understand the root of it.
I am SONIA CHADHA , 46 years of age and a science graduate (BSc Botony). Also completed my bachelor degree in education (BEd) . I used to teach in a primay school for some years .
I got interested in yoga when i was looking for some kind of physical exercise. It suited my body and started doing yoga on a small scale in my daily routine . My interest in yoga increased and i wanted to know more about it apart from the regular asanas we did . Came to know about this yoga teachers training course and joined it . My purpose of joining this course was to learn more deeply about yoga , how it helps us in our daily life . During this course i came to know how yoga helps us to live life to its fullest with a healthy mind and a healthy body . It is very important to maintain a heathy balance between our physical and spiritual body and mind , this can be achieved only by yoga .
After learning it properly , i would like to share my knowledge with others , by educating them about yoga .
