Practicing yoga is not only about asanas and pranayama.
My wish was to find out more about it, so in 2016, I completed the 200 hours Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program in the Yoga and Budo Center in Athens, taught by Andrea Provelegios, Chrisa Babali and Anastasia Rantilaki.
At the moment, I am a certified yoga teacher (RYT-200h) by Yoga Alliance U.S.A. and Yoga Alliance International India, as also a member of Yoga Alliance U.S.A., Yoga Alliance International India and Associate Member of Yoga of the International Yoga Teachers Training Association (I.Y.T.A.).
I always strive to continue my education and enrich my knowledge through workshops, courses, training, books, articles and transfer it to my students.
My strongest belief is:
‘Our body depicts our emotions and vice versa.
Yoga is a way to reach the balance between ourselves, other people and Nature’
Recently, I have been accepted as Permanent Teaching Staff in “Recreation, Exercise
and Quality of Life: Yoga, Pilates and Modern Dance” at the Department of Physical
Education and Sport Sciences, University of Thessaly in Greece. I received my
Bachelor degree in “Physical Education and Sport Sciences” at the University of
Thessaly, my MSc in “Human Performance and Health” and my PhD in “Exercise
and Quality of life” at the University of Democritus.
I have co-authored about 20 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and one
chapter in a book on recreation. I have attended many international congresses as
participant and speaker and I am also taking part in different scientific projects. I had
the supervision as Head Group Trainer of University Gym in our Department. I lead
all Yoga, Pilates and aerobics classes from 2013.
I am doing yoga about 20 years. I am a certified teacher in raja, hatha, asthanga,
vinyasa and aerial yoga. I teach yoga to our Greek and international students at the
University of Thessaly for the last 3 years. I enjoy inspiring my students to improve
wellness through yoga. The emphasis for me as a teacher is to provide students a safe
and effective practice alongside their mental and physical limits. My future
expectation is to organize a yoga lab and make our department Yoga focal point in
It would be a pleasure to contribute in any way to your work as Greek member and if
it would be possible as partner or scientific staff.
Thank you very much!
